Biography

A Mauritanian preacher of Soninke origin, he is regarded as one of the leading preachers of the Soninke community. He carries out extensive preaching and teaching work, notably through the explanation of numerous books and lessons in the Soninke language. He is also the author of several books, some written specifically for the Ahl As-Sunnah wal-Jamâ'ah Centre, as well as various works of research in the Islamic sciences.
Education and academic background
Primary education and Qur'anic schools
He began his studies in his home village, where he memorised the Qur'an and studied several foundational works of the Maliki school, notably Al-Akhdarî and Ar-Risâlah of Ibn Abî Zayd Al-Qayrawânî, with Shaykh Sidi Sissi of the Jalki Sissi family. He then continued his training in the village of Hassissighar, joining the Qur'anic schools of Shaykh Al-Hussein Soulei Sissi.
Secondary education
He settled in Nouakchott, where he joined the Al-Fârûq Institute of Islamic and Arabic studies. There he completed his secondary education and obtained the baccalaureate in 2006.
Higher education in Mauritania
He continued his studies at the Higher Institute of Islamic Studies and Research.
Bachelor's degree
He graduated from the Islamic University of Madinah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Faculty of Da'wah and Fundamentals of Religion (Da'wah wa Usul Ad-Dîn), in the first semester of the academic year 1433/1434 AH.
Postgraduate studies
He obtained the Higher Diploma (equivalent to a Master's degree) from the Department of Da'wah and Islamic Culture at the Faculty of Da'wah and Fundamentals of Religion of the Islamic University of Madinah in 2015. He also holds a doctorate in Islamic studies.
Positions and responsibilities
- Official imam and khatib of the Ahl As-Sunnah wal-Jamâ'ah Mosque in Mauritania.
- President of the Association for the Sponsorship of Orphans and Humanitarian Services.
- Director of the Ahl As-Sunnah wal-Jamâ'ah Institute (Centre) in Mauritania, an officially licensed establishment specialising in the teaching of the Qur'an, the Arabic language and the Islamic sciences, as well as in humanitarian and charitable activities.
Administrative standing and references
- He was the subject of an administrative and security investigation conducted by the Regional Security Directorate of Nouakchott South (Riyad police station). The investigation confirmed the absence of any judicial or security record, a normal economic situation and the absence of any political activity.
- The competent authorities concluded that there is no obstacle to his carrying out his teaching and preaching activities.
- He obtained several certificates of good conduct and good character issued by the deanship of the Faculty of Da'wah and Fundamentals of Religion of the Islamic University of Madinah during his bachelor's and higher diploma studies.

- Shaykh Dr Salih ibn Mohammed Al-'Aqil, former head of the department of Islamic creed at the Islamic University of Madinah, who wrote him a handwritten endorsement attesting to his uprightness, good character, soundness of creed and excellent conduct.
- Dr Youssef ibn Abdallah Al-Wabel, former assistant deputy for services of the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques.
- Dr Fahd Mohammed As-Soulaym, lecturer at the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion of Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud University.
- Shaykh Yahya Nahar, who publicly commended the Centre and those who run it.
- Shaykh Salih As-Suhaymi.
- Shaykh Ahmed Al-Khalaf, lecturer at the Islamic University of Madinah.
