Internal regulations

How the Institute operates and what every student commits to. Please read these rules carefully before enrolling.

1

About the Institute

The Institute specialises in teaching:

  • Academic curricula (primary, middle school, high school and university)
  • The Arabic language
  • The Quran (memorisation, recitation and tajwid)
  • The Islamic sciences (in particular tawhid, fiqh, hadith and the other religious sciences)

The Institute is a private teaching establishment. It is not affiliated with any political party nor with any organisation of a political nature.

The Institute provides teaching founded on the Quran and the Sunnah as understood by the pious predecessors (as-Salaf as-Salih).

The Institute is in no way responsible for the administrative formalities relating to the stay, the visa or the right of residence of students.

The Institute reserves the right to refuse or to terminate the enrolment of any student whose behaviour, statements or activities are manifestly incompatible with the principles, the aims or the rules of the establishment.

2

Enrolment conditions

Enrolment becomes final once the following steps have been completed:

  • The enrolment form has been filled in completely
  • The requested supporting documents have been submitted
  • The enrolment fee and the fee for the session concerned have been paid

No student may begin classes until all administrative and financial formalities have been settled.

3

Conduct and discipline

Every student undertakes to behave in accordance with the values of Islam and with the good manners proper to the pursuit of knowledge. In particular, each student must:

  • Respect the teachers, the administration and the other students
  • Show courtesy, seriousness and diligence
  • Preserve a good working atmosphere

Any dispute must be reported to the administration so that a suitable solution can be found.

The administration may impose any disciplinary measure, up to and including permanent exclusion, in particular in cases of:

  • Disrespect towards a teacher, a member of the administration or a student
  • Repeated disruption of classes
  • Behaviour incompatible with the values of the Institute
  • Failure to comply with these rules

Every disciplinary decision belongs exclusively to the administration.

4

Organisation of studies

Students must have all the material needed for classes to run smoothly (notebook, pen, textbook, computer or any other requested item).

The homework and assignments set by the teachers are compulsory.

Any lack of seriousness, repeated failure to work or refusal to complete assignments may lead to:

  • A warning
  • A temporary suspension
  • Exclusion from the class or from the Institute

Fees already paid remain acquired by the Institute, unless the administration decides otherwise.

Teachers are authorised to take the educational measures needed to maintain order and the smooth running of the class.

5

Rules of behaviour

Students must observe dress and behaviour in keeping with Islamic values.

The following are prohibited in particular:

  • Disrespectful behaviour
  • Disruption during classes
  • Use of a mobile phone during classes, unless the teacher gives permission
  • Eating or drinking during class without permission

When classes are held on site, any unauthorised mixing of men and women is forbidden in accordance with the rules of the Institute.

6

Attendance, punctuality and absences

Students undertake to be punctual. Any delay of more than 30 minutes may result in access to the class being refused.

When all the students are absent for more than 30 minutes without having informed the administration, the class may be cancelled and will be considered as owed.

Any absence must be reported to the administration only, at the latest on the day before the class. Students must never inform their teacher directly.

Missed classes are not made up, unless the administration has agreed beforehand.

In the event of lateness, students join the class without interrupting it and may not ask the teacher to repeat explanations already given.

Repeated or unjustified absences may lead to exclusion from the session without refund.

Students remain responsible for catching up on missed classes and assignments.

7

Examinations

Every student must sit the examinations set at the end of a level or of a book.

Absence from an examination must be justified to the administration. In the event of an unjustified absence, the student may not claim any attestation, certificate or diploma issued by the Institute.

A teacher may decide that a student has not reached the level required to move up to the next one. In that case, the student must repeat the level concerned.

To obtain:

  • A diploma authorising its holder to teach, a minimum mark of 90 % is required.
  • A diploma attesting to the level reached, a minimum mark of 80 % together with the favourable opinion of the teacher are required.
8

Payments and refunds

Tuition fees are due before classes begin.

If the course is discontinued after classes have begun, the amounts paid are not refundable, unless the administration takes an exceptional decision on grounds it considers valid.

If a student cancels an enrolment before classes begin, the amounts paid may be refunded in accordance with the decision of the administration.

Any student excluded from the Institute forfeits the amounts already paid.

No student may attend a session without having paid the corresponding fees, unless expressly authorised by the administration.

When a student temporarily interrupts a course for a reason accepted by the administration, the administration may, as far as possible, allow that student to join a group matching their progress at a later date.

9

Acceptance of these rules

Any enrolment at the Institute implies full and complete acceptance of these internal regulations.

The administration reserves the right to amend these regulations at any time in order to ensure the proper running of the establishment. New provisions come into force as soon as they are communicated to the students.

Enrolling means accepting these regulations

By submitting an enrolment application, the student — or the legal guardian — acknowledges having read these internal regulations and fully accepts their terms.
